Avatar is the story of an ex-Marine who finds himself thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms. As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, he finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the indigenous people.

My thoughts:
Engaging storyline, amazing graphics and
absolutely value
for money!

Got me "glued" and wanting for more! For a moment,
two and a half hour seemed so short (can you imagine even trying to wait for 10
minutes for a bus and hoping it will take longer?)

It's definitely a
must-see show! I'm looking forward to watch
Part II (if there's going to be
any... hmmm... )

Gathering at The Theatres

Movies are one of my favourite past-time especially after long hours of work and talking :P. I've heard of people who haven't been to the theatres for more than 20 years (since marriage) and I can never comprehend how that is possible...... A great movie simply makes my day!

I also like them for the fact that good movies can be a form of great entertainment for everyone, getting everyone engaged (even after the show) without much effort from everyone. On top of that, giving everyone a common topic to chatter for the remaining hours of gathering. :)

Happy Boxing Day!

Merry Christmas!
The kids had it best with their lovely presents from the uncles and aunties (or.. "大哥哥 or 姐姐 for those who still think they are too young for these titles :P) !
Well, it wasn't too bad for the adults too, we had quite a fair amount of feasting from the potluck that consisted of:
- Auntie Yap's Fried Delight
- Ah Yen's Can Soup
- Ah Hoon's Spaghetti
- JJ's Fried Chicken Wings
- Ah Ra's Drinks
- Ah Yun Sandwiches
- Biyi and GR's Log Cakes... and...
- lovely Gingerbread man by.... Melvin!

We were pretty stuffed by then and thought we were way too full for dinner. :P Fortunately, we eventually went ahead with the last dish for the night,

- Ah Na's Fries Delight
and... some drinks (Carol's white wine and Ah Hoon's Choya) to "blush" through the nights. :p
And guess what? By 12 midnight, I was munching away on potato chips! Hahaha...

The Festive Season: BBQ and BBQ and more...... BBQ

Eversince the BBQ from the mid-autuum festival, it seemed like BBQ has been never ending.

While eating and gatherings can be so fun, the after effects, especially how you look on the weighing scale can be pretty... "scary". Gulp >_<"

Nonetheless, we were grateful (or rather, I'm more grateful), when we found that walking up the stairs is a pretty effective and less time consuming slimming method! That helped to contain the weight a little, and even, kept our weight down! Pretty amazing results and now, I am looking forward to staying on a higher floor, so that we can have more exercise! :P

ST701 Cars

The usual car chat started and we were chatting about buying and selling cars in Singapore when a friend mentioned about monitoring the prices of cars on ST701. Besides the typical information on new cars, http://cars.st701.com/ also provides an immediate comparison on Singapore cars, Singapore used cars, and even provides a monitor on COE prices!
Back home, I decided to check out this
website.

Entered http://cars.st701.com/ and the website loads within 3 seconds (including the pictures of the cars)!

The design is simple, with its main features laid out in an easy to read and organised format.

On its left, there is a main menu for New, Used and Rental Vehicles, followed by a menu on "Driver's Guide" providing information such as Downloadable Pricelist, tools such as ERP rates and Carpark rates ("this will definitely come in handy for drivers who are new to Singapore road").

At its center, I had my first go on the CarsSearch:

Selected a make, "Audi", entered "$10,000" as the minimum price, "$100,00" as the maximum price, and clicked on "Go"......
In less than 10 seconds:

And just when I thought that that was it, I saw the "Tick and Compare Now"
icon. Checked on the few that caught my interest and ......

"Cool!"

I've bookmarked http://cars.st701.com/ as my favourites now (Going to check out other features that I haven't got the chance to mention here). :)

Birthday Dinner at Botak Jones

Again, was thinking of where to head for a nice dinner for my hubby who loves steak while one that has variety for the rest of us who probably doesn't.

From Kel, I've learnt about www.hungrygowhere.com and eventually, giving up due to the wide variety there. Then, recalling that we haven't been to Botak Jones (first recommended by brother in law, Melvin) for quite a while and I started googling to see if I can find a good deal.

I was pretty surprised to find a promotion that nicely fit the five of us, where there's a promotion for 5-for-4 Deal! http://www.botakjones.com/five-for-four/index.html

Despite looking for the typical fine prints for the usual "terms and conditions", we were really disappointed that the promotion was only available for lunch. :(

We tried to mention that this was not mentioned on their website but to no avail. Melvin even took the extra effort to search for the website on his iPhone but was more disappointed when the service staff returned with the menu that has the fine prints stated that this promotion was only available for lunch.

Checking out their website now, it's mentioned that "you are gonna chilling out with your friends or your parents..."... I hope it meant... the promotion is available during dinner too. Otherwise, the terms and conditions should really be consistent, both on the website (since it reaches the mass audience, especially people who check out their website before deciding if they want to head there) and the menu.

Food was great; but definitely, perception of value of money and service experience dropped with the inconsistency between the messages (terms and conditions for this promotion). We will definitely have some hesitations before heading out to this place again.

Movie at Illuma, Bugis

With a friend's help, I finally found the website to book a ticket online for the cinema at Illuma, Bugis ( http://www.filmgarde.com.sg/ ). Her first comment was, the seat is very spacious. I'm really curious to see how spacious that would be.

Running late for the move, I had a hurried dinner at Waraku at Illuma. Nonetheless, the extremely helpful service crew whose regular offers of drinks (even ice water or warm water), desserts, etc, and the friendly and warm farewell greeting by the service staff (even the staff inside the kitchen!) distracted me so much that I completely forgot to keep track of time. :P

Since this is the first time anyone of us has watched a movie here, we were not sure of the standard advertisement time this theatre has compared to Golden Village (about 30 minutes after stated "start time" of movie) and Eng Wah (movies mostly starting on the dot).

It was only when one of us commented that we were already 10 minutes late before I regained my sense of time :P. Right as we were walking in, the show is just about to start! (Phew!)

The moment we were seated, Kel said "wow". :) "Erm..hmm!, if that comes from Kel, for the majority of us, that means, seriously, the bigger space indeed has bigger room for us to spread our legs!

Eventhough I had to leave my seat halfway through the show, it was really great that I didn't have to squeeze through row of seated audience within the same row.

Pity though, I am seldom in this area, else, I'm definitely going to declare this as my next favourite hangout for movie.

Last but not least, for people who has parked your car, do remember you are at which level, as the escalator either brings you to level 3 or 4 (so far what we have discovered, hopefully I'm not wrong), but not 3A or 4A (you should use the elevators though) where you could also probably have parked your car. We took quite a while to get used to the unique design of this building and definitely not something pleasant after the long day. :P

Wedding Album

(Memorable Dinner at Holiday Inn Atrium)

No, this was not the beginning. For friends who attended this special day, sorry to have kept you waiting for so long.
Life is so, such that we are all so busy working and catching up with the rat race. I'm glad to have the time now, to start catching up with..... myself, my dreams and my love ones.
Cheers everyone and I hope that all our lives will be filled with many more beautiful memories.
